Patent Attorney
Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking a Patent Attorney to join its Patent Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or physics, and 2–3 years of patent prosecution experience.
Responsibilities:
Draft and prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
Conduct prior art searches and prepare patentability, validity, and freedom-to-operate opinions
Collaborate with inventors, in-house counsel, and technical experts to protect and manage intellectual property portfolios
Support due diligence and IP-related transactions
Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
2–3 years of experience in patent prosecution
Technical knowledge in medical devices, robotics, or machine learning preferred
Excellent academic credentials, analytical skills, and written communication ability
Admission to practice before the USPTO preferred
