As an Engagement Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting individuals and families by providing strength-based, solution-focused services in their natural environments. Responsibilities
- Deliver consumer-driven, family-oriented services within clients’ natural environments.
- Provide strength-based, solution-focused, and client-centered therapeutic support in the community.
- Develop a thorough understanding of each client’s strengths, diagnosis, treatment goals, and treatment plan.
- Assess clients for strengths, resources, and goals within the first 30 days of treatment and provide ongoing strength-based planning and support.
- Ensure each client has an Individualized Crisis Recovery Plan on file within 30 days to reduce risk and promote stability.
- Participate in collaborative meetings with Rehabilitation Services staff, community agencies, and natural supports as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention services according to agency policies and procedures.
- Communicate regularly regarding client status, including changes in mood, functioning, medical issues, and any crisis or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and effective clinical documentation for all client interactions and services provided.
- Document all client “no shows” and report difficulties in contacting clients to appropriate office staff.
- Utilize computer systems for documentation and billing purposes, with training provided as needed.
- Attend all required office trainings and participate in regular clinical supervision sessions.
- Return phone calls promptly and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Complete required annual training hours (20 hours for full-time, 16 hours for part-time).
- Actively participate in evaluations conducted by Rehabilitation Services.
- Engage and orient new clients, including completing intake paperwork and maintaining engagement until service authorization.
- Manage a caseload that may include clients who are more difficult to reach or serve.
- Build and maintain relationships with local referral sources such as hospitals and schools.
- Demonstrate flexibility and strong communication skills to accommodate clients on short notice.
Qualifications
- Must hold at least one of the following licensures:
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
- Certified Social Worker (CSW)
- Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC)
- Provisionally Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a community-based setting.
- Willingness to learn and utilize electronic documentation systems.
- Flexibility to respond to client needs on short notice.
