Dock Door Repair Technician

Shift: Monday – Friday, 1st Shift
Compensation: $28 – $36 per hour (based on experience)

As a Dock Door Repair Technician , you’ll be the go-to expert keeping commercial and industrial facilities running smoothly. You’ll inspect, maintain, and repair dock doors, levelers, seals, and more — ensuring every system performs safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

  • Prioritize Safety: Always follow OSHA and company safety standards, including lock-out/tag-out and confined space procedures.

  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and PMs on dock doors, levelers, seals, bumpers, and related equipment.

  • Tackle Repairs and Troubleshooting:

    • Maintain and repair commercial doors (automatic, hollow metal, and overhead).

    • Work on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic dock systems.

    • Handle light electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks as needed — from lighting issues to small patching and painting jobs.

  • Stay Organized: Document work in the CMMS system, analyze findings, and make recommendations for ongoing improvements.

  • Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with fellow technicians, subcontractors, and customer teams to deliver timely, high-quality results.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; trade or technical school training preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year maintaining or repairing commercial dock doors, levelers, automatic doors, or related hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

    • Experience with manufacturers such as Rite Hite, Power Ramp, Stanley Access, Assa Abloy, or Allegion hardware is a plus.

    • Previous work involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry systems preferred.

  • Certifications:

    • Valid driver’s license required.

    • AAADM certification preferred.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient with hand and power tools.

    • Capable of operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.

    • Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and maintenance software.

  • Professional Skills:

    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

    • Adaptable and efficient when handling shifting priorities and multiple tasks.
